Civil Engineering Jobs Are Expected To Boost In 2010

A property website’s editor has forecasted the growingly favorable condition should lead to a rise in new housing starts in 2010 which could help to boost civil engineering recruitment. Some latest official figures indicate that there were 25,820 seasonally adjusted housing starts during the third quarter of this year, representing an 18 per cent increase on the previous three months and a 16 per cent rise from the third quarter of 2008.

He stated that:

"Given that market confidence is increasing, mortgage approvals are up and the worst of the housing downturn looks to be behind us, it is likely that there will be a sizeable jump in the volume of housing starts next year."

According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, construction firms' public housing workload stabilized in the third quarter. While private housing workloads declined at their slowest rate in nearly two years. The trends that could lead to new construction related engineering jobs is becoming available next year.
